Review
Setup - 4/5
Everything is basically ready for T-Mobile. After flashing, you MUST go to the Comm Manager (in your Start Menu) and TURN ON the PHONE since the ROM boots with the phone connection disabled after flashing. After installing the ROM, it will configure your internet connection for T-Mobile without any manual entries required. However, you will need to install the MMS Fix if you want to be able to send/recieve pictures without compressing them to a rediculously tiny size. Other than the MMS Fix, the only thing you'll need to do if you're on T-Mobile or AT&T is install the Keyboard Fix, and you'll be running perfectly. It is recommended to use the 3.46.25.30 radio with this ROM.
Design - Simple
This ROM is as close to stock in the visual department as possible.Even the taskbar isn't themed (except the Start Menu icon). Everything has an elegant, professional look. The Start Menu is replaced with the TouchFlo Programs tab, which is a nice touch.
Features - 3/5
In order to have a fast and stable ROM, this only has TouchFLO 3D installed. That is what came before Sense 2.1 or 2.5. It features some of the same stuff, like the Facebook integration for contact pictures and some of the tabs, and is still a joy to use. The version of HTC Album installed on the phone is missing the Facebook integration however, meaning that you can't upload pictures directly from the photo viewer, and you can't look through your friend's Facebook albums. The Notification Manager is complete except that it doesn't show your battery percent or have a quick link to your Comm Manager. But the speed of the ROM will make you forget these slight omissions.
Stability - 5/5
This ROM was built to be stable. Because it uses TF3D, everything is bug-free. No complaints here! If you want the most free RAM possible, pick Jackos Oldschool, because you get about 130 MB free, and that's with Exchange running and Facebook integration setup!
Speed - 5/5
Since this is TF3D, it is super fast. Flipping through tabs or screens is extremely fast. Windows Mobile 6.1 helps to speed things up too, since it requires a bit less RAM and runs slightly faster overall. The task manager installed on the homescreen is the usual HTC Task Manager, but it runs quicker than usual.
Installed Programs - 5/5
All of the basics are included (except Microsoft Voice Command which can be installed) and there are not many extra apps that you'll find useless. For a complete list of installed programs, visit the Specifics page.
User Experience - 4/5
Even though this is Windows Mobile 6.1, the experience is very polished. The only disadvantage is the scrolling: While WM6.1 has finger scrolling, it isn't kinetic, meaning it doesn't have that snap back at the end of a list and doesn't scroll smoothly. Luckily the TouchFLO sections have HTC's scrolling and work as expected. The Start menu is replaced by TouchFLO's program's tab which gives you access to a number of shortcuts and a list of all your programs, so you'll never have to see WM6.1's unfriendly Start menu. The only compaint in addition to the scrolling is the lack of ability to play music through the speakers with the screen turned off.
